Strategic Plan

Each year Marin LAFCo holds a special meeting in January to conduct the Commission’s annual strategic planning workshop. The workshop is open to the public and is an opportunity for the Commission to discuss Marin LAFCo’s performance in meeting goals and objectives set for the recently completed calendar year coupled with considering interests and priorities for the new calendar year. The discussion generated from the workshop immediately informs the preparation and approval of a strategic plan for the new calendar year with the underlying goal of aligning the Commission’s vision with the collective goals of the membership in implementing LAFCo law in Marin County.

The next Strategic Planning Workshop will be 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Marin Clean Energy building.

LAFCo Work Plan

Each year Marin LAFCo establishes a workplan in step with developing an operating budget for the fiscal year. The workplan is divided into two distinct categories – statutory and administrative – with one of three priority rankings: high, moderate, or low. The underlying intent of the workplan is to serve as a management tool to allocate Marin LAFCo’s resources in an accountable and transparent manner over the 12 month period. Further, while it is a stand-alone document, the workplan should be reviewed in relationship to the adopted operating budget given the planned goals and activities are facilitated and or limited accordingly.
